Juve start Pepe renewal talks
Juventus held talks with Simone Pepe earlier this week to discuss the possibility of a new contract in Turin.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the wide player had a meeting with director general Beppe Marotta on Tuesday.

Talks are only at a very early stage, but it is understood that the Bianconeri want to prolong his agreement which currently expires in 2015.

Pepe, 28, scored six goals in 31 League games for the Old Lady in Serie A this term.

The former Roma player initially joined the Bianconeri on loan from Udinese in the summer of 2010 for €2.6m. A year later he was signed outright for a further €7.5m.

Bonucci named in betting probe

Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci has been under investigation for alleged match fixing since May 3, says Italian news agency ANSA.

The defender’s name appears on the paperwork of prosecutors in Cremona with regard to his time with former club Bari.

Bonucci has been included in the Italian international squad for Euro 2012, whereas Zenit’s Domenico Criscito was dropped after he was caught up in the betting match fixing investigation on Monday.

The only difference between the situations of the two players is that Criscito was handed an official notification that he was under investigation, while Bonucci hasn’t.

Neither player has been charged with any wrongdoing.

Juve to make Estigarribia decision

Juventus are pondering their options regarding the future of Marcelo Estigarribia after meeting with his agent.

“There was a get-together with Juventus,” Giuseppe Addamiano told Sky Sport Italia. “They are now deciding what to do.

“It was a positive season for the player, he did well and gave his contribution to the Scudetto success. He can be signed outright for around €5m.

“A discount? I only represent the player, so that is an issue for the two clubs to discuss.”

The Paraguayan international joined the Old Lady on loan in the summer, from Deportivo Maldonado, after impressing at the Copa America.

In 18 games across Serie A and the Coppa Italia, the 24-year-old left-sided player scored one goal.

Caceres would embrace Suarez
Martin Caceres would love international teammate Luis Suarez of Liverpool to join him at Juventus next season.

The striker has been paired with a Turin switch and Caceres has revealed that the two have talked about the Old Lady on international duty.

“I’ve known Suarez for a lifetime,” the defender told Tuttosport. “We’ve been roommates in the Uruguay set-up for seven years.

“He’s a friend, a nice guy and a great attacker. A lot of bad things are said about him, but the problem is that he struggles to explain himself because he doesn’t speak a lot of English.

“Juventus? It’s true, we have talked about Juventus and he’s asked me about the club without going into specifics about the players.

“I told him that Juventus are an outfit that wants to always win.”

Although Caceres added that the former Ajax man was content in England, Juventus may be tempting to him.

“He’s happy in Liverpool, but he liked what I told him about Juve,” the January signing stated. “After all, who wouldn’t want to play for such an ambitious club?

“Let me put it this way, I would be happy to share a room with him at Juventus too,”
he laughed.
