Destro twist offers Juve hope
The Mattia Destro transfer saga takes yet another twist as Siena's decision to buy half the youngster's contract hands the initiative to Juventus.

Destro's 12 Serie A goals on loan at Siena last season are the reason he's the hottest property on the Italian transfer market and the Tuscans always had an option to purchase a half share in him, but it had began to appear they would not exercise it.

Instead they were tipped to hand the player back to parent club Genoa, in a convoluted deal which would also see them give defender Luca Rossettini to the Rossoblu with youngsters Diego Polenta and Isaac Cofie headed in the opposite direction.

Genoa were then expected to pass the 21-year-old on to Inter, the team that reared Destro in their youth system before discarding him last year, a wrong they seem determined to right.

Only yesterday, after a transfer summit with Nerazzurri counterpart Massimo Moratti, Genoa President Enrico Preziosi played down the chances of Siena redeeming their option and reiterated his intention to favour Inter.

“I don't think things are changing,” the toy tycoon told Sky Sport Italia. “We have not promised anything to anyone, but all things being equal Inter would have the advantage to take him home on a moral level.

“If a team offers 10 and Inter nine, I will give him to Inter.”

Preziosi and Moratti will therefore have been displeased to see a note appear on Siena's website late last night confirming the transaction.

Genoa could buy back 100 per cent of the Italian Under-21 striker's rights at some point today, but the hands of Roma and Juventus in particular have certainly been strengthened.

Juve Coach Antonio Conte was in charge of Siena before taking up the Bianconeri post and is said to maintain a good relationship with the Robur.

The Turin club's director general Beppe Marotta has previously described Destro as a “really interesting youngster”, adding: “We'll make our move and hopefully get him.”

Juventus are ready to hijack Everton's move for Mario Mandzukic.
The Croatia striker enjoyed an impressive Euro 2012, scoring three goals, although iIt wasn't enough to keep his country in the tournament as they narrowly missed out on the knockout stages, with Italy and Spain advancing from their group.
Now though, attention will turn to Mandzukic, and Wolfsburg are wary his profile will have been enhanced following his performances in Ukraine.
Everton manager David Moyes wants to sign Mandzukic and pair him in attack with his countryman Nikica Jelavic, but Juventus have now emerged as serious contenders for his signature.
Wolfsburg will demand a lot more than the £7m Moyes is considering offering the German club - and Juventus are ready to match their price.
The German club are pushing for around £15m and the Italians would have no problem stumping up the cash.

Giovinco can’t wait for Juve return
Sebastian Giovinco admits he’s keen to prove himself at Juventus again given his likely arrival from Parma.

The Old Lady are expected to buy Parma’s 50 per cent share in him this week given that he is wanted for next season’s Champions League campaign.

“I’m really very happy,” the 25-year-old told Tuttosport. “For now I’m just concentrating on Euro 2012 with Italy, but I can’t wait to go back to Juventus.”

Giovinco, 25, is a product of the club’s youth system. He was loaned out to Empoli in 2007-08, but returned to base after an impressive spell in Tuscany.

However, after two difficult seasons in Turin, he was sent out on loan to Parma in 2010. A year later they signed half of the player for around €3.75m.

He scored 15 goals in Serie A this term, tempting the Old Lady to buy him back in a deal that is expected to cost them about €11m.

AUTOCAR : When car makers meet football teams
I didn't really pay much attention when Fiat's sponsorship of Italian football giant Juventus was announced back in April. The deal, worth 35 million Euros, begins next month and runs for three seasons.

The name of the Fiat-owned Jeep brand will be emblazoned across the chest of the Juve team shirt during the 2012/13 season. And at Tuesday's launch of the stonking new Grand Cherokee SRT, I got an insight into the value of such tie-ups.

I remarked to Yann Chabert, Jeep's European marketing director, that the sponsorship deal seemed an odd fit for such a rugged brand. He reminded me that the Fiat-founding Agnelli family and Juve club go way back, and he reckoned that Jeep and the football club share three core values - authenticity, passion and performance.

The figures he then told me helped it make sense.

Juventus has about 11.2 million fans in Italy, and approximately 35m across Europe. But as well as competing in the domestic Serie A, the team has also qualified for the next Champions League campaign, which will put it on the televisions of an estimated 300m people around the world.

That's impressive global reach for the Jeep name, and when numbers like that get thrown around I can understand the appeal of such link-ups for car companies, and why aligning yourself with another well-respected brand is preferable to spending 35 million euros on a global advertising campaign.

Jeep is enjoying a decent spell in Europe. Assisted by fast growth in the SUV market across the continent, last year's sales hit a record high, and this year's performance to date is showing signs of eclipsing that.

But its product line-up competes in an ultra-competitive sector where the premium German makes also hunt. Having the Jeep name plastered over the shirts of Juve's starting XI week in, week out won't harm the brand's European prominence one bit.

Yann Chabert also told me that Jeep's market research threw up an interesting nugget.

When respondents were asked to name SUV brands off the top of their heads, Jeep didn't figure particularly highly. But when they were prompted with a list of brands and asked to choose which car maker best represented SUV values, many selected Jeep. Which suggests that people know what Jeep is all about, but it isn't the first name to come to mind.

Even if only one per cent of Juve's domestic fan base gains awareness of the brand and what it stands for, that's 112,000 people who might be swayed Jeep's way should they ever be in the market for a 4x4.

Still no Juve deal for Verratti
Pescara have cooled speculation that they have agreed a deal with Juventus over the sale of Marco Verratti.

The Old Lady want to sign the player after his stunning campaign in Serie B for the Second Division champions.

“I can categorically deny that a deal with Juve has been done,” director Antonio Martino told Radio CRC. “The conditions are not in place for an agreement to be concluded.

“The boy has given his approval to a Juventus move and we wanted to please him, but we could now take him off the transfer market altogether.”

Juventus want to buy a half-share in the 19-year-old which would allow him to remain with his hometown club for another season. But they are not the only club keen…

“Napoli? We’ve never denied the fact that we’ve been in contact with them. Let’s just wait and see how the situation evolves.”

Verratti, an Under-21 international, is a central midfielder.

Juventus are expected to hold further talks with Pescara later today.

Pazienza hints at Juventus exit
Michele Pazienza has revealed that he probably has no future with Italian champions Juventus.

The 29-year-old joined the Old Lady last summer on a free transfer from Napoli, but moved to Udinese on loan in January.

“I don’t know what will happen yet,” the midfielder told Radio Kiss Kiss. “Today I am a Juventus player, but I’ll look for a new club.

“I need to find a project that will allow me to play with some regularity.”

Pazienza made eight Serie A appearances for the Turin giants in 2011-12, but that consisted of just one start and totalled only 172 minutes.

He scored one goal in 15 games for the Stadio Friuli side after his switch at the start of the new year.

Official: Giovinco to Juventus
Sebastian Giovinco’s much-anticipated return to Juventus has been confirmed, as the Bianconeri announce his transfer on their official website.

This week saw Juve’s advanced negotiations with Parma for the 25-year-old made public, and whilst Beppe Marotta and the player’s agent spoke of the move’s close completion, Parma’s announcement on Tuesday of the transfer proved premature.

However, Thursday evening’s statement on Juve’s website has confirmed the completion of their purchase of the Gialloblu’s 50 per cent of the player’s contract.

“Juventus announces that it has resolved in its favour the agreement with Parma relating to the playing rights of footballer Sebastian Giovinco.

“The transfer was resolved for a fee set at €11m to be paid by Juventus over the next three seasons.

“The contract signed with the player is in effect until June 30, 2015.”

Juventus originally sold this 50 per cent share of the player to Parma for approximately €3.75m two years ago, whilst the decision to re-sign him has generated debate among fans and critics alike.

Juve to cancel US tour - report
Juventus look set to cancel their tour of the United States this summer, in an attempt to maximise preparations for 2012-13.

The Bianconeri were due to travel to North America as part of their pre-season plans, with three games arranged as part of the World Football Challenge 2012.

Juve were set to play DC United on July 28 in Washington, Paris Saint-Germain on July 31 in Montreal and Real Madrid on August 5 in Las Vegas.

However, in light of the rearrangement of the Supercoppa Italiana clash with Napoli falling just a week on from the Real game and confirmation that it will be played in Beijing, China, rumours began circulating that Antonio Conte and his staff had requested that the club scrap the US leg of pre-season.

This was believed to be in order to make sure that time otherwise spent travelling could instead be used for suitable training and conditioning of the players.

The club’s intention to reorganise their pre-season now look set to be confirmed, as DC United announced today on their official website that they are looking for a new opponent to play in the July 28 slot.

“We’ve received word that Juventus FC will no longer be playing in Washington, D.C,” read the posting.

“While we’re disappointed with the news, D.C. United is already in discussions with another, major European team to fill that date and will share opponent and ticketing details as a deal is finalised.

Marotta attacks Inter: a response to the file?
Inter-Juventus rivalry that is infinite in the market, see Destro and Giovinco and even outside. Today Journal, Beppe Marotta has pulled a stab at Inter: "In recent years the team has won more in Italy, not coincidentally, one with a larger balance sheet deficit. This is certainly not an attack on 'Inter, but only of an objective fact. "A frontal attack on the manager's Juventus. Surely, no soothing words, that warm the fans, perhaps a response to the actions of Inter or perhaps a response to the recent testimony of Tavaroli?
