Juve compensation for Chiellini
Juventus will receive financial compensation from UEFA for Giorgio Chiellini’s calf injury picked up whilst on international duty.

Part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March between the European game’s governing body and the Europe Club Association saw UEFA agree to cover the cost of wages over enforced periods of absence at club level which were the result of injuries picked up at international level.

Chiellini picked up a second degree calf strain just 21 minutes into Italy’s Euro 2012 final with Spain and has been ruled out for between three and five weeks.

Reports indicate that as a result, the club will receive as much as €420,000 in compensation from UEFA, an amount equivalent to the defender’s wages during this anticipated period of recovery.

Van Persie ‘would prefer Juve’
After confirming that he will not sign a new deal with Arsenal, Robin Van Persie is apparently favouring a move to Juventus, should he be sold this summer.

The Dutchman, who was the Gunners’ leading scorer last term, announced last night that he would not be renewing his contract with the club that expires in June 2013.

His club initially stated that they expect him to remain with them into next season, but reports are linking the player with a transfer this window, so that Arsenal can receive a transfer fee for him.

It is thought to be a fight between Manchester City and Juventus for the 28-year-old, but Calcionews24.com believe that out of the two, the player prefers the change of scene that the Turin outfit can offer, as well as the stronger guarantee of first team football.

It is also alleged that Beppe Marotta is reportedly prepared to offer the striker a contract in the region of €8m a season.

We spoke with all parties involved, of course, have expressed their demands, and I can say that the Paris Saint Germain has shown great interest in the player. We were very impressed by the stadium, from home, from the completely new context of the Paris Saint Germain. We broke a few days to think about: we will resend in the coming days, we do not know if still in Milan or Paris. Let reason all parties involved. "
